Photo # 10 -- Ruth Law, early female pilot.  On December 17, 1916, flew an aerial salute to President Woodrow Wilson aboard his yacht Mayflower in New York harbor.  Magnesium flares and an electric sign spelled "Liberty" on her plane's lower wing.

Internet viewer Paul Winslow writes: Peter Bowers book "Curtiss Aircraft: 1907-1947" notes that Ruth Law had the Wright control system installed on her Curtiss (Photo #10) because she learned to fly in a Wright.
